Centro Service Changes

Centro Announces Service Changes for Fall 2009

In an effort to improve its efficiency and maintain a high level of service to its Central New York customers, Centro will implement service modifications effective Tuesday September 8, 2009.

Some modifications will provide easier transfers for Centro customers.  Others will combine / discontinue less utilized bus trips or provide minor time adjustments without significantly changing the frequency of service.

Please note the following:

Route 23 East Syracuse / Route 26 South Avenue

  1. On Saturdays, all Route 223 James –Shoppingtown trips to downtown between 10:15am and 5:00pm will arrive at Common Center to meet regularly scheduled lineups.  This will allow passengers to make easy connections to other Centro bus routes. Most of these trips will also continue to South Avenue, eliminating the need for those customers to transfer between buses.

Route 443 & 543 Connective Corridor

  1. The 443 Warehouse and the 543 Connective Corridor routes have been combined and all trips will now be called the Connective Corridor.  The 443 Connective Corridor route will operate weekdays starting at Goldstein and will end at the Warehouse.  The 543 Connective Corridor route will operate in weekday evenings and weekends providing additional service to the Everson Museum, Civic Center and Delevan Art Gallery.  The 543 Connective Corridor will also extend to the near west side serving the neighborhood surrounding Blodgett Middle School.

Route 10 South Salina

  1. The weekday Route 110 South Salina trip to downtown that previously had left Valley Plaza at 7:02am, will now leave Valley Plaza at 7:22am.
  2. The weekday Route 10 South Salina trip to downtown leaving Valley Plaza at 9:12am and returning Route 10 South Salina trip leaving downtown at 9:35am have been eliminated.
  3. The weekday Route 110 South Salina trip leaving downtown at 4:53pm and returning Route 110 South Salina trip leaving Valley Plaza at 5:12pm have been eliminated.

Route 52 Court-Park

  1. The weekday Route 52 Court –Park trips leaving Downtown at 7:10am and 7:20am will now travel on Teall Avenue to Henninger High School 
  2. The weekday 52 Court –Park  trip leaving downtown at 5:30am and returning 52 Court –Park trip leaving Shop City at 5:55am have been eliminated.
  3. The weekday 52 Court –Park  trip leaving downtown at 5:20pm and returning 52 Court –Park trip leaving Shop City at 5:55pm have been eliminated.

Route 78 Fairmount

  1. The 78 trip leaving Fairmount Fair at 7:15am and 178 trip leaving Fairmount Fair at 7:22am have been combined.  The new trip will leave Fairmount Fair at 7:15am and operate as a 178 Fairmount with service to St. Camillus.
  2. The Route 78 Fairmount trip leaving downtown at 6:55am was eliminated. 

Route 20 James Eastwood

  1. The Route 20 James-Lamson trip leaving downtown at 5:53am and returning trip arriving downtown at 6:13am have been eliminated
  2. The Route 21 James Sunnycrest trip leaving Conklin and Glencove at 7:08am will now leave at 7:03am arriving downtown at 7:33am

Route 54 Midland-Valley

  1. The Route 254 Midland-Valley Drive trip leaving downtown at 6:20am has been eliminated. 
  2. The Route 54 Midland-Valley Drive trip leaving Midland Ave and Matson St at 7:14am will now leave at 7:20am arriving downtown at 7:40am

            The public timetables dated September 7, 2009 will be available soon.  They will be yellow in color.

The following Syracuse routes will incur changes
effective May 4, 2009.

10 South Salina Street / 410 Nedrow
            The 3:05pm weekday trip from Clary Middle School to Midland Avenue has been cancelled. The 3:18pm 410 Nedrow weekday departure from downtown will leave at 3:15pm.  The 410 Nedrow printed schedule will be combined with the 10 South Salina Street.

121 James – Sunnycrest
            All trips will now go to Shop City.  The route will now end at Eastwood Heights Senior Center and will no longer continue to Wegmans.  Some trip times have been changed slightly.

22 Carrier-New Venture Gear
            The weekday 2:25pm departure from downtown has been changed to a route 20 James-Lamson.

36 Camillus
            The weekday 6:35am trip leaving downtown will now depart at 6:40am

236 Auburn - Syracuse
            Some adjustments were made in fare zone boundaries and corresponding fares.

246 Oswego - Syracuse
            The 7:00am trip from Oswego to Fulton will no longer pull into the Oswego County Public Safety Building or Seneca Hill Manor.  Some adjustments were made in fare zone boundaries and corresponding fares.

550 Carousel Center
            Trips traveling toward downtown will now operate Franklin Street to West Genesee St. to Clinton St to Fayette St.

52 Court – Park
            The weekday trip leaving Shop City at 12:55am has been eliminated.

152 Court - Industrial Park.
            The weekday 11:35pm trip departing downtown has been eliminated.  The trip leaving Vincent and Townline Roads at 12:02am has been eliminated.

56 Strathmore
            The weekday trip leaving Strathmore and Glenwood at 7:55am has been eliminated.

156 Stolp – Strathmore
            The weekday trip leaving Glennwood and Strathmore at 6:22pm has been eliminated.
           
262 Fayetteville-Manlius
            The weekday 4:45pm 262x trip will start at National Grid instead of the Regional Transportation Center.  The Sunday 262 trip leaving downtown at 2:10pm and the trip leaving Carriage House East at 3:00pm will pull into Menorah Park.  The Saturday trip leaving downtown at 5:55am will no longer pull into Menorah Park.

68 Erie Boulevard
            The weekday 12:30am trip leaving downtown will operate as a 276 East Fayette Salt Springs.
 
170 Oak Darlington
            The weekday 8:45am & 9:55am trips from downtown have been eliminated. 

80 Grant Boulevard
            The weekday 12:30am departure from downtown has been changed to a #52 Court trip.  Customers who need to travel to Grant Boulevard at this time may ride out on this trip as it will return to downtown as an inbound 80 Grant Boulevard trip.

72 East Colvin
            The 11:05am departure from downtown will now leave at 11:10am.

723 Suburban East – Minoa
            This route now travels between Minoa and Fayetteville Towne Center, with new service directly to the YMCA. Transfers may be made at Towne Center to Centro’s Fayetteville – Manlius bus to access the rest of the Centro system. The first and last trips of the day also provide service to Wegmans and Shoppingtown.  The Saturday service has been discontinued.

76 Salt Springs
            The weekday 12:30am trip from downtown will now operate as a new 276 East Fayette –Salt Springs. This combines routes 68 Erie Blvd and 76 Salt Springs.  It travels Fayette St to East Genesee St to Salt Springs Road.  The weekday trip that leaves Harrison Hall at 12:50am has been eliminated.
 
82 Baldwinsville
            The third fare zone from Route 31 and Spruce Street to Radisson has been eliminated. The 6:30am trip leaving downtown will now operate as a local trip serving Dwight Park.  The 3:35pm departure from downtown will also serve Dwight Park.
            The weekday 282 trip leaving Radisson at 5:48pm has been eliminated.  The weekday 182 trip arriving downtown at 6:07pm has been eliminated.

188 North Syracuse
            The route has been extended to Cicero Commons. It will no longer travel on Crabtree Lane or Factory Street.  The weekday trip leaving downtown at 4:45pm will now operate as an 88 North Syracuse.   The Saturday trip leaving downtown at 5:40pm will operate as an 88 North Syracuse.  Fare zone 2 has been extended to Route 11 and Mud Mill Road.

388 Central Square
            Fare zone 2 has been extended to Route 11 and Mud Mill Road. The weekday trip leaving Central Square at 5:40am will now depart at 5:35am.

250 Hancock Airport / Hancock AirPark
            This route has been eliminated.
